The photo on our fridge for six years

It isn’t in focus and nobody is smiling. It is still everyone’s favourite.

Written by Jun Park

Every family has a photo that does more work than it should. It sits on a fridge or a desk and quietly holds a whole year of memories. This story is about one of those pictures and the people around it.

Quick tip: star photos on your phone as you take them. Picking takes half the time at the end of the month.

My mum reads the captions more than she looks at the pictures.

Older kids are tricky. Asking them to take some of the photos works better than chasing them.

Great question. Start with one photo per child per day and swap them on the second pass.
